Meet Grayson
Incredibly Amazin’. Always Cowboy Tough.
At just 16 months old, Grayson was line driving wiffle balls, slam dunking a basketball, playing with his cowboys, and bucking them off as he gave them a wild ride on one of his horses or bulls. At just 2 and a half years-old, he knew what he wanted and had a vivid imagination on how to play rodeo.
In 2018, after numerous tests and hospital stays, Grayson was diagnosed with metachromatic leukodystrophy (MLD), a rare and fatal genetic disorder that primarily affects the nervous system.
The Amazin’ Grayson Foundation
The Amazin’ Grayson Foundation was formed by Grayson’s parents, Dion and Kristin Schimke, to provide relief, support, and assistance to other families experiencing an MLD, or other rare disease diagnosis.
The Amazin’ Grayson Mission
Our mission is to provide relief, support, and assistance to pediatric families by providing financial support, helping to educate, and bringing awareness to Metachromatic Leukodystrophy (MLD) and rare diseases that affect children and their need for medical equipment.
Grayson’s Equipment Corral
Grayson’s Equipment Corral is a local pediatric lending closet for durable medical equipment available to families while they wait on insurance and DMEs to get their own, or where insurance is not an option.
